By Jamie May Photography: Rain, rain go away! Some days are like that. I was so thrilled that despite the weather we had a fantastic day with Ben and Abby. First off, these two are so pleasant and fun to be around. I love Ben’s sense of humor. And Abby’s gentle, kind spirit. They made us feel like part of the family all day! They also picked out a beautiful venue, Watermark Country Club, that helped make the pictures awesome, even though the weather never cooperated. I love the venue. There is an open floor plan with lots of windows. In addition, the venue has a great space to work with outside in the rain! Another benefit after photographing over a 100 weddings is that we are ready for any challenge that may come our way. I am so happy for Ben and Abby. They first connected at a Ranch that their families have been going to for years. I think over 9/10ths of the wedding guest were from this place! The sense of community was awesome. There were so many touching moments throughout the night, including the ‘best man’ speech. I definitely got choked up and had tears at that point!!! Wishing you both many more happy years!!!! x0x0x0x
By Jamie May Photography: Katelyn and James had a record high day for their wedding! It was January 21st and Michigan decided to be sunny, warm and beautiful! We started at Katelyn’s parents house for some getting ready pictures. After that we headed to Holy Spirit Church for the first look. I loved when James saw Katelyn of the first time! You can tell he just adores her. After the ceremony, we hopped on the party bus. They have such a fun group of friends and family; there were lots of laughs. I was thrilled with some of the spots they picked out for pictures. The pine trees and the pretty white fence looked fantastic with the bridesmaids dress. We also headed over to Rockford where we ended our pictures. The reception site, St. George Banquet Center, had just been remodeled; literally a day before! The center looked fantastic! I loved all of Katelyn’s details and decorations. I also enjoyed hearing how they met at such a young age and Katelyn, would drive him around because she is a little older than him. Haha! James will be blessed with two brother in laws that seemed to be very fond of him and also enjoy picking on him! Those are the best kind of brothers! Wishing you two the very best!!! xoxox
By Jamie May Photography: This was the first time I have ever been to Thornapple Pointe Golf course for a wedding. The facility and grounds were absolutely stunning on this picture perfect fall day. Megan and Matthew are so adorable. I loved the way they looked at each other and how excited they both were. We started the day with Megan’s getting ready pictures and then headed straight to the golf course where Matthew and Megan did their first look. I love how he gave her the biggest bear hug ever! And how about those clouds in the sky?! Awesome. We then made our way around the golf carts and rode the carts that know how to drive themselves. Apparently, I have not been golfing in a while, but the carts don’t allow me to fly over hills anymore. We stopped on a hill that gave a breath taking view of the water and all the beautiful fall colors in Michigan! What a fantastic day. Megan and Matthew’s friends are a riot. We had so much fun with them on the party bus and throughout the day taking pictures. We had lots of laughs when we threw Matthew up in the air. Megan and Matthew started the dancing off right, with a elegant first dance. I was so blessed to be a part of their beautiful fall wedding day! Many best wishes to you both!
By Jamie May Photography: This wedding was organized in a way that felt like an answer to pray, in addition we had a warm fall day! We always wish for this much time with the bride and groom to walk around and capture so many beautiful pictures. We had so much fun. I adore the first look. Jena has one of the biggest and prettiest smiles I have ever seen! And they both were glowing that day. They got married at a little restaurant in the city of Holland called the Alpen Rose and following the wedding was the reception at the same location. Another favorite recommendation of mine, everything in one spot. I also love that everything was so laid back and their families and friends were so nice to be around. Thank you so much for hiring me to be a part of your day. Wishing you many more happy, smiley years!
By Jamie May Photography: What looked like a day that was going to be rainy, ended up holding off and being a mild-decent day for Donald and Sarah’s wedding!! I love how it always works out in the end. Donald and Sarah were so easy to work with and had wonderful friends and family. We had a ton of fun with this group. I love how close Sarah seemed to be with her mom and dad. There were very many touching moments that made us get a little teared up. So thankful to have been a part of this beautiful wedding day!!!
By Jamie May Photography: I finally was asked to take pictures at The Little Red Barn of Nunica. This is a beautiful venue with lots of great photo opportunities! I loved it here. Chrissy and Jay were so wonderful and easy going. Marie and I love when we have a ton of time with the bride and groom. Jay is cop and more serious guy and it was so cool to see all of the smiles that Chrissy brought to him on this day. He could hardly stop smiling. They had the local meat market, Top Butch Shoppe and BBQ, and it was delicious. I know Chrissy tried to use all local vendors which I appreciated! I hope to stay in touch with you both! Wishing you many more wonderful years of marriage!
By Jamie May Photography: The weather started off a little questionable and then became a wonderful day, with a stunning sunset! Daryl and Danyelle were so fun to work with. They are so cute and animated! I love all their energy and dance moves. They kept us smiling and having fun all day and night. Their family and friends were also a riot, lots of great dancing pictures with priceless expressions. We did get an amazing sunset that night and I am so thankful because that one of the many great benefits of getting married at the Bilmar Restaurant in Grand Haven. Daryl would look at Danyelle throughout the day with such love, passion, excitement and joy. I am so happy for the both of them. Some of the moments that I remember that day are when they cut the cake and had at the song, “Pour Some Sugar on Me,” by Def Leopard and did a encore of ‘rocking it out.’ After the lantern set off, all their friends gathering and singing on the beach, “Don’t Stop Believin’ ” By Journey. Can you tell they are a musical bunch? 🙂 Too much fun!!! Wishing you many, many more happy years of marriage!!! Hope to see you again soon!
By Jamie May Photography: Cassandra and Eric got married ini Shelbyville at Vann’s Valley Event Center . It was a very pretty facility. They have a lovely outdoor setting for a ceremony and beautiful grounds for many photo opportunities. Cassandra and Eric had quite the love story. Starting out together young and then going their separate ways, to then again be reunited by true love. It is so neat how they were meant to be together and found their way back to each other. I was so happy to be a part of this day. They were full with joy, happiness and butterflies. Cassandra brought her love of horses and country into the details of her wedding, which was all brought together to make a perfect day! Many blessings to you both. Hope to see you again!!
By Jamie May Photography: I am wrapping up a wonderful 2016 wedding season! So now it is time to catch up on all the wedding stories I was a part of. I was connected with Ally through her cousin, whom I photographed a few years before at her wedding, which Ally was a part of. (That was a mouthful! ) I absolutely LOVE referrals and to be able to see old friends again. Ryan and Ally got married in June and had a gorgeous day. We started with the first look at their local church and then headed to the fire station to snap a few photos with the fire truck. If you haven’t guessed it, Ryan is a firefighter! These two are a dynamic duo with their love for helping and serving people as Ally is a nurse. I could tell from all their family and friends that these two are truly cherished by all the people they connect with. Everyone was so wonderful to work with and made this day so much fun and pleasurable! Ally loves old buildings and cool texture, so after the beach we headed to a empty building across from their reception site, Fricanos Event Center . Thank you for hiring Jamie May Photography to be a part of your wedding! Wishing you many more happy years!
