By Jamie May Photography: Rain, rain go away! Some days are like that. I was so thrilled that despite the weather we had a fantastic day with Ben and Abby. First off, these two are so pleasant and fun to be around. I love Ben’s sense of humor. And Abby’s gentle, kind spirit. They made us feel like part of the family all day! They also picked out a beautiful venue, Watermark Country Club, that helped make the pictures awesome, even though the weather never cooperated. I love the venue. There is an open floor plan with lots of windows. In addition, the venue has a great space to work with outside in the rain! Another benefit after photographing over a 100 weddings is that we are ready for any challenge that may come our way. I am so happy for Ben and Abby. They first connected at a Ranch that their families have been going to for years. I think over 9/10ths of the wedding guest were from this place! The sense of community was awesome. There were so many touching moments throughout the night, including the ‘best man’ speech. I definitely got choked up and had tears at that point!!! Wishing you both many more happy years!!!! x0x0x0x

By Jamie May Photography: I absolutely LOVED Katie and Aaron’s themed wedding. It was to the Disney movie UP and everything was done so cute! The cake looked amazing and tasted amazing by Grand Finale Desserts in Grand Haven. Their wedding and reception was held at the Grand Haven Golf Club. They had a pretty day for October and the golf course looked beautiful as always. Katie and Aaron are great couple and Katie was just beaming with happiness and excitement. It was adorable and made me get a little teary. I am so happy for the both of them!!! Wishing you many more years of happiness!!!
By Jamie May Photography: This will by far go down as one of the most memorable weddings for me. My sister in law and I headed to Aruba to photograph these beautiful peoples wedding. I have been running into Matt and Mariangela since I started as a wedding photographer. One of the first weddings I did was of one of her best friends wedding. We are all from the same town so we would run into each other frequently. I was so excited when they asked me to be a part of their wedding in Aruba. I have not traveled in a while and it was the first time traveling as a photographer. Matt and Mariangela had quite the celebration. Mariangela shared some of her Venezuelan culture of happy hour where young folks in carnival attire dance and get the crowd dancing with lots of fun props. The Tequenos kept coming which is like a mozzarella sticks and they were delicious. And now I am working on getting all those calories off at Matt’s amazing company Fit Body Boot Camp where people have lost 100s of pounds. He is changing our community. And Mariangela, I just love your mom and dad they are so sweet and always made us feel welcome and like family. Thanks for the amazing experience. Forever grateful. Love you guys! Songs of the week: Don Omar – Danza Kuduro ft. Lucenzo , and Cheerleader. Seriously how many times did I hear those two songs.
By Jamie May Photography: Of course this has to be one of my favorite weddings of the year since it was my cousin Kyle who got married. During the summer, as a photographer, I miss a lot of social events. So I am so happy to have been there. Erica and Kyle got married at the Trillium. I love the Trillium. They have a beautiful garden area to get married at. There is also a lot of beautiful spots to take pictures. Erica made a beautiful bride and did an awesome job on all her details. She is very organized. We had a super hot beautiful day. The reception was a riot with lots of entertainment, including a photo booth. There were lots of great dance moves on the dance floor and a lot of laughter and fun. I have the cutest grandpa and he has the best moves ever. (and his sister Jackie) See you soon! xoxox Also Happy BIRTHDAY ERICA!!!
By Jamie May Photography: Another awesome couple and group of people. We had so much fun with Alison and Kyle and their friends. It was a traditional Catholic wedding so we were able to spend quite a bit of time in between the wedding and reception going around West Michigan and taking many photos. We even encountered a parade downtown Grand Rapids which was a hoot. We did lots of singing and dancing on the trolley. We watch the bride and groom entertain us with their fun mother/son , father/daughter dances. It was a great night. Muskegon Country Club is beautiful too. They have views of the water and a balcony where you can hang out at night. I love these two and hope they stay in touch because they just have wonderful personalities. Thanks for letting me share in your special day!!!
By Jamie May Photography: Another gorgeous beach wedding. This sunset was amazing. It was constantly changing and giving me new looks to capture. This was another great group of people! They were so fun. The guys could be professional groomsmen because they knew how to take pictures. The girls were awesome too. They had their wedding and reception at the Bil-Mar Restaurant right on the beach of Grand Haven. I am so happy for Skip and Bree. They have such a glowing love for each other and just seem like such happy natured people. So blessed to share in their day with them. Best Wishes you two!
By Jamie May Photography: This was the first time I have been to Bay Pointe Inn for a wedding and it is absolutely stunning there. The water views and the garden area are awesome and the tent is a long the lake for the reception. The sunlight works in my favor in this location and we had big white puffy clouds and blue skies! It was breathe-taking! Mike and Amanda are so cute! He just couldn’t stop saying how beautiful she was and how lucky he was. So sweet!!! So glad to be a part of those special moments. Stay in touch! So thankful to be a part of your wedding day
By Jamie May Photography: Another beach wedding for the year. We live in a beautiful place where people come from all over to have their wedding. Most of the time the weather cooperates too!! Thank goodness for that!!! Sometimes people only need me for a 4 hours and this was one of those weddings. So I don’t have full coverage, but a glimpse at their perfect day. Matt and Cassie I wish you all the best! And it was great to work again with My Barefoot Wedding on a beach wedding.
