By Jamie May Photography: I am wrapping up a wonderful 2016 wedding season! So now it is time to catch up on all the wedding stories I was a part of. I was connected with Ally through her cousin, whom I photographed a few years before at her wedding, which Ally was a part of. (That was a mouthful! ) I absolutely LOVE referrals and to be able to see old friends again. Ryan and Ally got married in June and had a gorgeous day. We started with the first look at their local church and then headed to the fire station to snap a few photos with the fire truck. If you haven’t guessed it, Ryan is a firefighter! These two are a dynamic duo with their love for helping and serving people as Ally is a nurse. I could tell from all their family and friends that these two are truly cherished by all the people they connect with. Everyone was so wonderful to work with and made this day so much fun and pleasurable! Ally loves old buildings and cool texture, so after the beach we headed to a empty building across from their reception site, Fricanos Event Center . Thank you for hiring Jamie May Photography to be a part of your wedding! Wishing you many more happy years!
By Jamie May Photography: I was so excited when Linsey and Travis contacted me to photograph their wedding at Blue Dress Barn. This is one of my favorite venues! There are details galore, which always adds so much! Linsey and Travis are just awesome. I don’t know how else to say it… I love these peeps! Travis and Linsey have a great group of friends, we even saw all the groomsmen setting up the reception site. This was a first for me, I have never witnessed that before. They had a gorgeous day for an outdoor ceremony. I love that at the barn you can have a bonfire and roast marshmallows. I enjoy being outside, so I especially like when there is much opportunity to be out there. Since this wedding was in June, the memories that stick out to me the most since I am writing on a delay, is the emotion and the way that Travis looked at Linsey. You can tell they just adore each other, and have a love to be jealous of! So Linsey blurting out she loved him with in the first month of knowing him, made total sense!! I am so happy for them and wishing them many more happy years!! Hope to photograph more of your memories in the future. xoxox!
By Jamie May Photography: We started our day at Fountain Street Church in Grand Rapids. This was the first time I have been to this church. It is so beautiful. The architecture is amazing. I was like a little kid in a candy store. Not to mention the stunning venue of the Grand Rapids Museum. The unlimited amount of photo opportunities was so much fun. John and Kelsey are such an awesome couple. Their friends and family were amazing to work with and we had so much fun. I will let the pictures do the rest of the talking!
Thanks so much Kelsey and John for this amazing opportunity. Wishing you the very best!! xoxo Jamie May Photography
By Jamie May Photography: Samantha and Dustin got married in Spring Lake Michigan and then had their reception at the Harbor Hall in Grand Haven. I have never seen the Harbor Hall so well decorate and adorable. Samantha hired the help of Add-Vintage which is a company that you can rent props from and I-do signs which makes those cool chalkboard signs you see. Samantha had an awesome vision and I just love how it all came together. Dustin and Samantha were wonderful to work with and I am so happy to have met them and to be a part of their wonderful day. I hope you have enjoyed your first few months of being married!!!
By Jamie May Photography: It has been a full and fantastic year! I am so thankful to know all these wonderful couples and to share in one of the best days of their lives! Please stay in touch!!! x0x0x0
By Jamie May Photography: Seriously! We could not have asked for a better November day! It was beautiful. We had picture perfect weather the whole day and night, ending with some gorgeous sunsets. Kim and Mark and all their friends were so much fun to work with. They all cooperated so quickly we had plenty of time to just hang out and have fun before the reception! The wedding was at St Patrick’s Church with Father Bill. He is so good at what he does. I always enjoy listening to his messages. Then we went to a park for some pictures and then headed over to the Harbourfront Place for the reception. They had a man that rolled Cuban cigars for a few hours in the night and everyone seemed to enjoy that very much. Kim is so sweet to remember me to photograph her wedding! I photographed her best friends wedding about four year ago! Where does the time go? I was so blessed to be a part of your day! See you in town!! xoxoxo!!!
By Jamie May Photography: Well we are down to the last two weddings of 2015. It has been quite a year with 28 weddings! What a full season. We have met lots of great people and shared in a lot of special memories! Cody and Kim were another super sweet and awesome couple. I am so excited for them both! My husband also had the honor of helping them buy a house! They got married at Harvest Bible Church in Spring Lake and then headed over to The Harbourfront for their reception. Kim and Cody met through youth group at their church! I think that is so cool. They were both so excited to get married. The day was magical with lots of dancing and laughing! Wishing you both many, many more magical years together!! xoxoxo
By Jamie May Photography: Nikki and David got married at the Grand Ledge Opera House. This is the first time I have been to this little town and it was very pretty! We had a fantastic October day. The sun was out and all the landscaping was still lush. It was truly picture perfect! We had a great time with this couple. They were so easy to work with and the day went by without a hitch! The ceremony was filled with laughter and joy. I have never been to a ceremony that had more. We were all crying of tears of laughter. I am so happy to know Nikki and David and I am so thankful they hired me to be a part of their day!! XOXOX
By Jamie May Photography: I absolutely LOVED Katie and Aaron’s themed wedding. It was to the Disney movie UP and everything was done so cute! The cake looked amazing and tasted amazing by Grand Finale Desserts in Grand Haven. Their wedding and reception was held at the Grand Haven Golf Club. They had a pretty day for October and the golf course looked beautiful as always. Katie and Aaron are great couple and Katie was just beaming with happiness and excitement. It was adorable and made me get a little teary. I am so happy for the both of them!!! Wishing you many more years of happiness!!!
By Jamie May Photography: This will by far go down as one of the most memorable weddings for me. My sister in law and I headed to Aruba to photograph these beautiful peoples wedding. I have been running into Matt and Mariangela since I started as a wedding photographer. One of the first weddings I did was of one of her best friends wedding. We are all from the same town so we would run into each other frequently. I was so excited when they asked me to be a part of their wedding in Aruba. I have not traveled in a while and it was the first time traveling as a photographer. Matt and Mariangela had quite the celebration. Mariangela shared some of her Venezuelan culture of happy hour where young folks in carnival attire dance and get the crowd dancing with lots of fun props. The Tequenos kept coming which is like a mozzarella sticks and they were delicious. And now I am working on getting all those calories off at Matt’s amazing company Fit Body Boot Camp where people have lost 100s of pounds. He is changing our community. And Mariangela, I just love your mom and dad they are so sweet and always made us feel welcome and like family. Thanks for the amazing experience. Forever grateful. Love you guys! Songs of the week: Don Omar – Danza Kuduro ft. Lucenzo , and Cheerleader. Seriously how many times did I hear those two songs.
